Govt of India bans 118 more Chinese apps including PUBG
New Delhi: Following the ban of 59 apps with Chinese links in June month, Ministry of Information & Technology on Wednesday banned 118 more mobile applications that include PUBG that is very popular among youngsters
“Government blocks 118 mobile apps which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defence of India, Security of State and Public Order,” the ministry said in a statement.
In June govt of India banned apps like TikTok, UC Browser, Weibo, Baidu Map and Baidu Translate saying they were prejudicial to sovereignty, integrity and security of the country, the same prompted desi version of the banned apps flooding the market. Banning of PUBG opens up loads of opportunity for local game developers to look at replicating similar gaming apps in coming days.
